News & Events

The Faculty Club is the site of numerous events, both private and public, which are too many to publish.  For example, the UC Berkeley Career Center reports that 90% of campus recruiting events are held at our facility.

The Faculty Club featured in a New York Times!
In case you missed it, the Faculty Club recently received very positive comments in a New York Times travel piece on Berkeley. We hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Monthly Art Exhibit  for September: Hans F. Gude -  The Official “Cal Licensed Artist in Residence”
ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
The September Faculty Club art exhibit will feature poster reproductions of original artwork of the Berkeley campus by Hans F. Gude, Cal Licensed Artist in Residence. Gude is a professional fine artist and illustrator who was designated the official “artist in residence” for UC Berkeley in October 2017. This designation recognizes the high quality and unique vision of his campus artworks, while authorizing him to officially represent the campus and affix the UC Berkeley trademark to his images for sale in local book stores, including The Student Store. Included in the exhibit will be a reproduction of Gude’s large, tour-de-force oil painting depicting the Cal Men’s Rowing team in the final meters of a close race against its long-time rival, the University of Washington. The original 2017 painting, titled “Last 500 Meters in the Montlake Cut,” is 3 feet by 4 feet and illustrates Cal edging out Washington in the Huskies’ home waters. September will be Gude’s third exhibit at the Faculty Club. He is a UC Berkeley alumnus (BA, Philosophy, 1978), who later worked on the Berkeley campus for 8 years.
