Tom Goldstein
Tom Goldstein is a Professor of Journalism and Director of Media Studies. A journalism educator for more than 20 years, he taught at the University of Florida and Columbia and served as dean at Columbia and Berkeley. Before becoming an academic, Goldstein was a reporter at the Associated Press, Newsday, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times and was press secretary to New York Mayor Ed Koch. A graduate of Yale and Columbia law school and journalism school, He is an editor of the Columbia Journalism Review and author of The News at Any Cost, A Two-Faced Press, and co-author of The Lawyers Guide to Writing Well. He also edited Killing the Messenger: 100 years of Press Criticism, which makes his analysis of Trump’s current assault on the press especially timely and cogent.
