LECTURE: WHAT CAN ROBOTS TEACH US ABOUT BEING HUMAN?
SPEAKER: KEN GOLDBERG
Ken Goldberg is an artist and UC Berkeley professor who investigates robotics, automation, art, and social media. He is Director of the People and Robots Initiative (a multicampus multidisciplinary research program) and UC Berkeley's Automation Sciences Research Lab. He earned dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and MS and PhD degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. He joined the Berkeley faculty in 1995 where he is Professor of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, with secondary appointments in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, Art Practice, the School of Information, and in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the UCSF Medical School.
